Blue Thumb Campaign
The campaign is a national call to action on drinking water issues. It is intended to raise awareness of the need to protect water, conserve it, and to get involved in decisions concerning drinking water resources and supplies. A major component of the campaign is National Drinking Water Week, held annually during the first full week of May. The 1997 theme is "Drinking Water Counts on You."

Partnership for Safe Water
